Windows Operating System Software – Why is it So Slow?
It is not the windows operating system software that is slow and other operating systems are slow compared to when they first started. Many people, especially those who did not participate in the field of computers grew up and prefer windows operating system software or Mac operating system. He didn’t know when computers were considered to be very fast but were only a fraction of the power of a modern PC.
Let me give you some history. In the past, computers were written in what were known as low-level computer languages, assembly language and even machine language which made the programs more efficient. But over the years they want to make more applications and languages easier to program.
Then came advanced language compilers such as Cobol, Fortran and a sudden explosion of many others. Although this was clear, the battle began for the compiler industry to make it more efficient to handle the demand for the requested functionality that was slowing down computers.
The efficiency of compilers was measured by the number of machines designed to perform a particular task. If one combines 10 machine learning instructions to do one job and another 20 you can guess which one did the best. This was not always the case because it also depended on the instructions of the machine being used. The hardware was more efficient than others.
Returning to why “windows” The first release of “Windows” was considered to be very fast and was (compared to modern PCs) working on very low-end computers. When mature Windows users have upgraded to new versions of Windows operating system software, they found that their PCs were running slower and slower. They also found that they had to use more space on their hard disk to run the new system.
The slowness of the windows software program was reduced a little by buying a more powerful PC and a bigger hard disk. Buying more disk space and memory is sometimes recommended because the new system could not be installed on the old PC. There came a time when the software users bought could no longer work with the new windows. Talk about two whimmies. It would appear that OS providers and hardware vendors are colluding to save money.
This is not necessarily the case as users ask for this functionality without realizing that it will come at a cost. At the same time there is another double whammy. Because of the more powerful computers “developing” software used, the practical use of developed software was thrown out the window. (Pun) The developers didn’t give very well in advance, (Just buy a more powerful computer). They want to get the goods out the door and start earning.
Some operating systems are more successful than others which is “Unix” next and “Linux” maybe followed by Mac and lastly the windows software.
You may find that if you have “hosting” and check what your provider is using your account, you will find that it is running a “Unix” or “Linux” operating system. You will find others who are using Windows software. Personally, if I find that to be the case I will not go anywhere near the company.
Unfortunately, very powerful PCs make us slow. You start out with your windows software running fast but after a while it slows down. This is the case with any operating system no matter how good it is. Windows operating systems are like your car that needs to be maintained from time to time. If you don’t take care of your car the performance will slow down and the amount of damage will happen more often. That’s why you should do it yourself and have it done by professionals. With a car you check the oil, tire pressure and other minor tasks but you send your car to a repair shop for more serious things.
