There are several words that mean “dinner” in Japanese:

Notes:

* Non-past dictionary form of a verb: See Nihongo Doojoo, “Style You and Beyond, Articles 19, 20, 21 and 22”, for more details.

* Unpolite past form of a verb: See Article 23 of Season 4 Beginner for more details.

* Please note that the negative form of a non-past verb is conjugated as -i adjective ending to get the past form. Change the ending -i to katta.

For instance:

  1. kaeranai it becomes keranakatta
  2. mine it becomes minakatta
