Enlightenment – Consciousness – Vibrations – New Age Terms Demystified

Many who hear or read age-old concepts quickly tune out, change the channel or click away. I know because I did it. I will try to explain “logically” what spiritual enlightenment and our passage to the next level of consciousness means in the simplest terms that I can so that more of us understand that there may be some “reality” to all this style Oprah new era. language.. This will be from my pseudo scientific perspective for all you people from Missouri.

These are some of the terms commonly used in New Age discussions.

Unity Consciousness

All things evolve and are in a continuous state of change. The only constant is change. Plants, animals, stars, suns, the whole universe and of course man. We evolve together as a species. Humanity has lived in a duality consciousness. In simple terms, this means that everyone buys into the same reality that there is good and bad or right and wrong or black and white or even male or female. It is always in groups of two and opposites. That is why it is called duality. A component of this is the belief that we are all individuals and just stand apart from each other and everything. We have in the past all agreed that this is the reality.

What the new-ageers say is that we have changed our reality now. That we, as a species, evolve into a new consciousness called unity consciousness or Christ consciousness. That is why it is called the new era. It is the creation of a new reality that comes from the knowledge that we are one with all things. That we are all made of the same stuff. This is the reason for the name “unit”. We have been preparing for this change for a long time. Buddha, Muhammad and of course Jesus Christ along with many aboriginal cultures gave us these messages to help us transition into a new way of being. This is why some call it the Christ consciousness. Some organized religions have chosen not to interpret these master words from this perspective probably for reasons of power and control.

Whether you believe that this shift in consciousness has occurred or not, you may be able to concede that some kind of shift in our species is possible. I won’t go into more detail about it here. I want to go into an explanation of what I believe happens in real terms to our bodies and minds when this change or ascension happens. Ascension is another new age term that simply means a step into the next level of consciousness.

Lighting and vibrations

To explain these terms of the new age, I ask you to think about the different states of matter. The body is matter. In the first state matter is solid. By adding heat (light) it becomes liquid and with more heat it becomes gas. The human body has two basic components. Biology or put another way a mass of solid carbon floating in water and an electromagnetic field. The elements that make up the universe and everything in it are hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen and carbon.

Some of the characteristics that describe a solid are immobile, separate, inflexible. In our current reality these terms can also apply. We feel that we are separated. We have our truths and we stick to them. The molecules of a solid move very slowly creating a lower energy vibration. Energy or electricity does not flow as well through a solid as it does through a liquid or gas.

Light is also described as love or warmth. When we awaken to the knowledge that we are one with all things, feelings of unconditional love fill our bodies. We add heat. We transform or evolve into a more liquid state as and as a liquid melts into one. We are no longer apart. Let’s go with the flow. We become more transparent or honest with ourselves and others. We become more reflective or self examining. Energy flows much easier through a liquid. Less resistance. More allows. The molecules of a liquid vibrate faster producing a higher vibration. We are simply allowing more light into our bodies. Becoming enlightened. It literally emits a higher electromagnetic vibration.

Can you hear all the terms of the new age?

Will we evolve into more fluid beings? Some say we originated in water. Our planet is mostly water. Our bodies are mostly water. Whales and dolphins that, as some believe, are the most evolved beings on our planet. The symbol of Jesus was a fish. Are we returning to our true form?

I’m going off on a tangent. I don’t want to lose now. Save this topic for another time.

All these big concepts about human evolution that I and others like to throw around can really boil down (pun intended) to simple school chemistry. It is the beauty of the universe. The simplicity. There is a mathematical term called Occam’s Razor which says that all things being equal, the simplest theory is more likely to be true.

There is no mystery to new age spirituality. There is no mystique reserved for the chosen few. We are all in this together. Yesterday’s woo-woo can become today’s reality.
