Network Marketing Breakthrough – Change the World One Person at a Time
Changing the world seems like a tall order for anyone let alone regular people like me and you but it really isn’t. Knowledge is power and you gain knowledge through education. Education is readily available everywhere we go, at our homes, at our jobs, on our commutes from A to B and even through the people we talk to everyday, regardless of their age. Opening our minds to different views allows us to analyse situations with more expertise.
How do we open our minds to different views? By trying something new. Something different. Your morning newspaper is a great example of this. Over here in the United Kingdom, our daily newspapers are split up between political and social backgrounds. This is not a rule this is how its just comes about. A few newspapers in England tend to favour the middle class (I’m not sure what that is equivalent to in the US but over here in the UK its the rich people) because of this, articles written in these newspapers are written in a style which suits better educated individuals. They contain longer, more descriptive, alternative words then that are used in the everyday English language.
Some would argue this makes a better read. Also the news the published in the newspapers aimed at the middle class, tends to shy away from the magazine type gossip published in the newspapers aimed at the working class. Many young people see these types of newspapers as boring and feel they cannot relate. This could be down to lack of bright colours these newspapers use so they seem less appealing or maybe its because Madonna love life is ultimately more interesting than the spending habits of a certain Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, I don’t know. What I do know is many young people will shy away from these newspapers and if asked some would even admit to have never even reading the newspapers in question.
Here is our problem. society today is very comfortable with being in a routine. We often don’t want to try something that is completely different to what were use to.
We close our minds off to the option of trying something new, we dismiss the suggestion straight off the bat. This could be put down as an immediate reaction of fear but I believe it is more out of a lack of knowledge. If you knew the benefits of reading such a well written article on Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah and his life of luxury I’m sure the same audience that enjoy reading so much about Britney Spears and her earnings would no doubt find this chosen individual quite interesting. Being uneducated in a specific field and passing judgment will not work in your favor all the time. If you do not know any better, how can you be sure what you have is the best? I’m not saying go out there and try every single thing you can get your hands on what I am saying is make it your duty to find out a little more, through education not advice, on subjects you are pretty skeptical about. information is available on almost anything you can think of on the internet, in books, magazine and on TV. Granted not all the information is correct but there are some valid and reliable sources out there.
How do we know what is a reliable source? We can never say what a source is 100% reliable because it is mostly based on interpretation. There will always be someone who sees something differently. We can however get a general overview of something by seeking many different source of information on the same subject and signaling out the most common traits. For example if we asked 100 people to explain the event of the most recent American election, we would get many different views on weather the campaigns were clean, if the right man for the job was elected, how it would effect America in the long run and so on. The one thing that we would not be able to dispute would be who the actual winner was. By drumming up lots of different view point and arguments on a subject, if you can locate the common point in all the different views you can be sure that point has some validity in it. Remember were trying to educate ourselves with a basic understanding of something so we can make an educated choice about it.
So how dose this link into changing the world. Educated people make educated decisions based on facts and logic. One real and powerful benefit on educating yourself is the ability to become more tolerant and less prejudices. Just because someone or something isn’t the way you want or expect is doesn’t mean they can not be the same as to what you desire. A delinquent child can become a disciplined adult you hope for but first you must be able to see that in them and not cast them off as a lost hope.
Educating yourself on how to deal with problem children will allow you to choose effective but not always common methods of dealing with the child. Another example would be the prejudices towards people different from yourself. One individual could be different from another for lots of different reason, whether it be their skin colour, their sex, religion, social background or even if they are from or reside in different area to you. Many people have the preconception of being visibly different from someone means they will have nothing or little in common with one another. This causes divide.
Because of this preconception they often do not want to get to know one another and so never discover how much in common the really have with this other person. This continues divide. Often some people have very good reason to behave like this, maybe they have had a bad experience when dealing with people of this group. Of course this is understandable after all a leopard never changes its spots. Or dose it? A certain individual may never change but that doesn’t mean all like them are the same.
An ugly caterpillar grows to become a beautiful butterfly in months. With time people change. What allows them to change is learning and gaining knowledge. They do this by either, indirectly educating them self through experiences or seeking out the right information in order to better themselves. By not being so set in our views on people and things we can expand out and reach new places we never imagined possible all because we made that decision to change and educate ourself correctly on a subject before giving a verdict. This conquers divide. If we can all make this decision I can’t see the world being any worse off then it is now. Can you?
